Vice President Kamala Harris will make an appearance on “Saturday Night Live” this weekend, according to three people familiar with the planning.

It will be the last episode before the election. Actor and comedian John Mulaney is hosting, and Chappell Roan is the musical guest.

Harris’ cameo on the long-running variety series, where she’s been portrayed by actor Maya Rudolph, brings her to New York, away from the battleground states she’s been visiting in the final stretch of the campaign. On Saturday, Harris held a rally in Charlotte, North Carolina.

“Maya Rudolph — I mean, she’s so good,” Harris said of her impression on “The View” last month, praising her “mannerisms” as well. “She had the whole thing, the suit, the jewelry, everything!”

Jason Miller, senior adviser to the Trump campaign, said “SNL” had been “crushing” her all season and going on the show is “crazy.”

Presidential hopefuls from both major parties have made appearances on “SNL” in recent years.

Trump hosted the show in November 2015, sparking a demonstration from hundreds of protesters who opposed his comments about undocumented immigrants. A month earlier, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton made a cameo on the show and did an impersonation of Trump.

Barack Obama also made a cameo in 2007 when he was seeking the Democratic presidential nomination. The following year, then-Gov. Sarah Palin went on the show just weeks before the election as the Republican vice presidential nominee.

“SNL” and NBC News share a parent company, NBCUniversal.
